Repatriation

We can help when a UK citizen dies abroad, or a non-UK citizen dies in the UK, and they need to be brought safely home.

Families can access our specialist help 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Deaths in the UK

Our team will provide care for someone who has died in the UK, and take the lead in logistics, travel arrangements and administration to anywhere in the world.  If a UK funeral is required beforehand, we can arrange this and oversee the onward transport of ashes and belongings.

Returning to the UK

For the families of those arranging the repatriation home to the UK, we work with authorities abroad and provide direction to bring loved ones safely home and arrange a funeral locally.

We understand repatriation presents additional complexities through delays arising from time zones, language barriers, and the volume of various third parties working through local, regional and national legislative requirements at an already difficult time.

Our specialist team provide a single point of contact offering support in arranging:

  • Travel arrangements for the deceased and any accompanying family/friends
  • Legal documentation: death certificates, free from infection certificate, permits and translations
  • Funeral administration with other funeral directors, embassies and consulates, insurers, prepaid funeral plan providers
  • Full funeral support for UK burials or cremation
  • Coffin or urn option, suitable for travel if necessary
  • Communication and updates to families and other third parties as required
  • Concierge service to ensure belongings and effects are secure and transported onward safely
