With so many options, getting it right starts with knowing what you want.
Direct cremation
Direct cremation is an unattended funeral, arranged at the convenience of the crematorium, and includes the return of ashes. It’s a minimalist option involving no service on the day or viewing beforehand. Direct cremation has the lowest cost of our options and this, coupled with its simplicity, can often suit individuals but is not always the preferred experience for families who will be unable to pay their respects.
It’s an understandable issue, which is why we offer viewing opportunities for those who choose a direct cremation and, if required, can arrange for a service in our funeral home before the cremation date. It should be noted that not all funeral directors will offer this.
Standard cremation
Standard cremation includes an attended funeral service in a crematorium chapel and the return of your loved one’s ashes. These services can range from a simple send-off to a traditional funeral with flowers, music, and readings. As standard cremation involves a service, some families combine it with a separate celebration afterwards.
