Fuller Report Calls for Regulation

This week saw the report released from the Fuller Inquiry.

We welcome the inquiry’s call for statutory regulation within the funeral industry in England, a process that was introduced in Scotland earlier this year, to ensure the greatest level of respect and care for those who have died.

William Purves is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, care of the deceased and funeral facilities. As an organisation, we exceed the Scottish Funeral Directors Code of Practice and are proud to support legislative efforts across the UK, designed to protect the security and dignity of people after death and prevent such horrific offences from taking place again.

We would like to reassure our clients – both north and south of the border – that William Purves operates to the highest professional standards. As an independent family business, our values of compassion, dedication, integrity and respect, underpin our brand and our promise to deliver the very best for families.

We hope that England will now follow Scotland’s lead by introducing robust legislation to ensure accountability and elevate the quality of care within the funeral industry.
